A Saskatchewan rural leader says this province should look at expanding the number of automated agriculture weather stations.
Manitoba is increasing its farm weather stations from 61 to 84 by 2018.
Ray Orb, president of the Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities, would like to see a similar move in this province.
Orb says weather data is the lifeblood of farming.
In Manitoba, the data will be used to improve flood and drought forecasting and monitoring severe weather.
