The University of Regina has launched a five-year plan to go green.
University president Vianne Timmons says the plan puts sustainability at the core of teaching, research and campus life.
One initiative involves working with the city of Regina to improve transit service.
There are also plans for a pilot composting program and campus-wide recycling that would include plastic, coffee cups, paper, batteries and electronics.
More than 1,400 faculty, staff, students and members of the university community helped develop the plan.
