It is a day to stay inside if at all possible.
An extreme cold warning is still in effect for Regina and a good portion of Saskatchewan as cold arctic air is sweeping over the province resulting in temperatures close to minus 30 with the windchill in the minus 40 range for many areas.
In the Weyburn and Estevan region on Saturday morning, the windchill made it feel like it was minus 46.
The cold air will linger across most of southern Saskatchewan throughout the weekend, so while a slight moderation of wind chill values is expected in the afternoon hours, extreme wind chill values will persist or redevelop tonight into Sunday. Temperatures will begin to moderate Monday as a weak disturbance pushes into southwestern Saskatchewan.
