People in La Loche, Saskatchewan, are trying to fathom any possible motive for a mass shooting that took the lives of four people and wounded several others.
RCMP are releasing little information but resident Kevin Janvier says his 23-year-old daughter, an educational assistant at the school, was killed.
He also says Mounties told him the shooter had killed two of his own siblings.
Reports to the Saskatoon Star Phoenix allege the shooter killed the two family members at a residence in the town, then posted to social media, stating “just killed two people, going to shoot up the school.”
Separate reports say at least one victim was transported to Saskatoon hospital by STARS Air Ambulance with a gunshot wound.
One male is in custody and RCMP say there is no remaining danger to the public.
The RCMP has not confirmed the identity, gender or age of the deceased, and will not comment on how many people have been injured.
