Both schools remain closed in La Loche following the shooting that took place in the small northern Saskatchewan community on Friday.
In an update today, the Saskatchewan government confirmed several additional resources were sent to the small village in order to help the community move forward.
Among those resources are workers from the ministries of Education, Social Services, Health and Justice.
Donna Johnson, with the Ministry of Education says as of right now, there is no timeline on when the schools will reopen for classes.
“The effort that will be required to provide them the sort of mental health and grief counselling they will need is likely going to take some time, and at this stage I don’t know how much time that will take.”
The 17-year old boy accused of killing four people and injuring several others is in court this afternoon to face four charges of first-degree murder and seven counts of attempted murder.
There was no update on the victims who remain in hospital, because of privacy issues.
