The defence has rested its case at the Goforth trial with closing arguments set to happen on Thursday.
Kevin Goforth was the final witness for the defence and the Crown went after him as his testimony came to an end today.
A transcript of a police interview was presented where Goforth admitted things were not going well with the two girls who were living under the care of himself and his wife Tammy.
He told court police were trying to put words in his mouth during that interview, but he did admit at one point that one of the girls had been restrained with a strap.
Kevin and Tammy are charged with second degree murder in the death of a 4 year old girl and unlawfully causing bodily harm to the two year old who survived despite the fact she was severely malnourished.
