The jury in the 2nd degree murder trial of Kevin and Tammy Goforth is expected to receive the case Friday morning
Closing arguments in the case went on Thursday with two very different pictures being painted.
The defence asked the jury to carefully weigh all the evidence they have been shown during the trial and that a 4 year old girl who died in the couple’s care and her two year old sister were not in perfect health and the accused were not given the background on their history to properly look after them.
The defence added the girls, who were both severely malnourished and dehydrated when admitted to hospital in August of 2012, were not treated any differently than other kids in the home.
The Crown also told the jury to look at all the evidence and then use their common sense and best judgment when making a decision.
The Crown reminded the jury several witnesses had described the two girls as being healthy and happy before they entered the home and to compare photos of them taken before they arrived at the Goforths to pictures of the girls taken in hospital.
