A verdict has been reached in the second degree murder trial of a Regina couple charged with the death of a 4 year old girl in 2012.
On Saturday afternoon, the jury found Tammy Goforth guilty on a charge of 2nd degree murder, and her husband Kevin guilty on a lesser charge of manslaughter.
The pair have also been found guilty of unlawfully causing bodily harm to the 4 year old’s younger sister.
Over the course of the two week trial at Regina Court of Queen’s Bench, the jury heard stories of starvation and restraint towards the two girls with the couple saying while testifying on behalf of themselves that they loved the two girls with all of their heart and denied causing any harm to the pair.
Sentencing will happen on February 12.
