Mid February. And the days are getting longer, so here’s something from my kid days.
Our family always sat at the kitchen table for meals. Breakfast, Lunch and Supper – plus coffee breaks. It was the place set up the day’s activities or discuss what had gone on.
Typically, the conversation lead us to hitting the light switch to see where we were in the year for the amount of light needed to eat at 6pm.
Just as we were sitting down to the table, whomever happened to be closest to the light switch could check if you could see your place setting! Then it was okay, turn them back on. Until one day – you could eat with the lights out!
That time of year is fast approaching. Interesting isn’t it that the daylight stretches into the evening hours first and not at daybreak.
No matter where I go or who ever is sitting at the table .. “Kill the Lights, let’s see if we have enough daylight to eat” can be heard.
