A group of 17 people representing 12 business organizations in Saskatchewan is in Ottawa this week lobbying for the province’s economic future before the federal budget comes down next month.
Steve McLellan, CEO of the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce, says they are meeting with ministers and officials in the Prime Minister’s Office, the Opposition, the Departments of Finance, Innovation, Science and Economic Development, Agriculture Canada and others.
McLellan says it’s a unique opportunity to promote the opportunities and advantages of the province.
He says ensuring access to markets and skilled workers are high on the priority list.
The group will also talk to officials and politicians about infrastructure, agriculture and trade issues and opportunities.
