A special mediator will try to resolve differences between the Saskatchewan Association of Health Organizations and the union representing registered nurses.
Richard Hornung will meet with the two sides in Regina on Friday.
He says they’ll conduct a number of meetings, and if nothing is solved, it will be up to the employer and the Saskatchewan Union of Nurses.
Hornung has had success in resolving Saskatchewan contract issues in the past.
In 2011, he was called in to resolve a dispute between teachers and the government, which led to a tentative agreement.
