The Government of Saskatchewan proclaimed February 28 to March 5, 2016, as Agriculture Literacy Week in Saskatchewan.
Agriculture Literacy Week brings producers and people who work in agriculture into Saskatchewan’s classrooms to share their personal experiences in the industry.
“Agriculture is an amazing story of challenges, opportunities, perseverance, and success,” Agriculture in the Classroom Executive Director Sara Shymko said. “Agriculture Literacy Week activities foster a deeper connection to agriculture and food through the sharing of personal agriculture experiences.”
This year, participating classrooms will enjoy a presentation showcasing the diversity of products Saskatchewan farmers grow as well as a book reading by a representative of the agriculture industry.
