Filmmaker Kevin Smith is in Saskatchewan scouting for a new film location.
He posted this on Instagram overnight:
The journey to #MooseJaws begins today! I’m in Canada to scout locations for the final film in the #TrueNorthTrilogy – and the first one we’ll shoot in actual #canada IRL (@tuskthemovie & @yogahosers were shot in #northcarolina & #california)! This is probably the stupidest of all three of my #MidlifeCrisisMovies and also my favorite script I’ve ever written. Why? a) It’s very simply #Jaws but with a moose instead of a shark, and b) #MooseJaws features the cinematic return of @jayandsilentbob! It’s a mashup of my movies as the ol’ #Askewniverse meets the #SMuniverse (the #SModcast universe) – in Saskatchewan of all places (birthplace of #WadeWilson)! Jaws was the first movie to capture my imagination and make me a movie geek.
Smith came to prominence with the low-budget comedy Clerks in 1944 which he wrote, directed, co-produced, and acted in as the character Silent Bob of stoner duo “Jay & Silent Bob”.
