Another election promise from the NDP this morning without the actual election call being made.
Leader Cam Broten used a Regina park as a backdrop to announce a mental healthcare platform.
He says if elected April 4, he will make Saskatchewan a leader in mental-health care with several initiatives including one to provide insured coverage for children and youth in need.
Broten says catching problems early is not only conducive to the mental health of Saskatchewan’s youth if in need of help, but to society as a whole.
Other things Broten would do include covering post-traumatic stress disorder through Workers’ Compensation, and expanding a pilot program in which mental health and crisis intervention professionals are partnered with police officers.
