NDP leader Cam Broten hosted a campaign style press conference in Regina on Saturday morning.
The Premier-elect hopeful announced his plan to overhaul the ambulance fee system in Saskatchewan.
Broten says, if elected, he would do away with transfer fees between health care facilities and also eliminate the per kilometre rate currently charged.
The NDP’s plan was spurred into action because, according to their numbers, nearly half of the province’s residents would likely delay calling an ambulance because of fees.
Broten expects the plan to cost 63 million dollars over four years.
Broten says healthcare and government spending will be very important issues in the coming election.
