The comments of a former NDP candidate on Facebook are taking away from campaign promises made by both Brad Wall and Cam Broten today on the election trail.
The NDP said this morning Mark Jeworski was no longer their candidate in Weyburn-Big Muddy because of personal reasons. However, offensive statements he has made on his Facebook account have been made public with one of those statements suggesting Brad Wall’s mother should have taken the abortion pill.
That has drawn the ire of one Saskparty candidate.
Don McMorris says this was a major test of Cam Broten’s leadership and he has failed miserably by stating Jeworski’s departure was for personal reasons when there is no doubt he knew about the offensive posts.
McMorris says two of the most important qualities of leadership are transparency and accountability and Broten has failed on both counts.
Broten says the posts by Jeworski were inappropriate , but he’s focused on Saskatchewan issues and maintaned Jeworski ieft for personal reasons.
