Regina police have charged a 20 year old man with a variety of offences after a weapons call downtown on Saturday afternoon.
Police say they were sent to 11th Avenue after reports of a man waving what was believed to be a firearm. He had been observed pulling the gun from his pocket and holding it up against his neck while pushing him against a wall.
The suspect was located near the public library with an airsoft gun tucked into his waistband—-that airsoft gun had the orange safety tip painted black making it look like a real firearm.
Patrick Akapew made his first court appearance on the matter today.
