Provincial NDP leader Cam Broten says he needs some time to decide what his future holds.
Broten was beaten in his riding of Saskatoon Westview by the Saskatchewan Party’s David Buckingham in Monday’s election.
In a statement released by the Saskatchewan NDP this morning, Broten says he will be spending some time with his family and speaking with colleagues to determine what is next as the party moves forward.
The release adds the overall results of the election are disheartening, but the party will get back up off the canvas and continue their work to make Saskatchewan a stronger, fairer and kinder province.
This is the second straight provincial election where the leader of the NDP has not been able to retain his seat in the election as the same thing happened to Dwain Lingenfelter in 2011.
