Margaret Trudeau will be the keynote speaker at this year’s Regina Mayor’s Luncheon.
The luncheon is held to raise awareness and reduce the stigma of mental health.
Gwendolyn Friedrich is the Executive Director of The Caring Place in Regina, a mental health counselling centre.
She says Margaret Trudeau’s experience’s with mental health are something many can relate to.
“What she did to overcome it and become well again is such a message of hope, because there’s a lot of people caught in that vortex of depression.”The luncheon will be held on May 5 and coincides with Mental Health Awareness Week.
