Stars Air Ambulance held its its fourth annual Gala fundraiser Friday in Regina
The event raises money for STARS operational expenses.
Trevor Mitchell, STAR’s Base Director for Regina says all the money stays in Saskatchewan.
STARS has two bases in Saskatchewan, one in Regina and one in Saskatchewan.
Last night, the event paid tribute to to their VIP – Very Important Patient.
Kurt Ferguson had a work-site construction accident – he fell onto rebar and was seriously injured.
By sharing his story at the Night with STARS fundraising gala, Ferguson aims to inspire donations to the STARS emergency response program.
It’s yearly operational costs are about 21-million dollars for both bases.
Mitchell says their service responds to calls in more than 400 communities province-wide.
In its fourth year, the STARS gala featured a raffle, dinner, dancing, and a performance by Jess Moskaluke – the 2014 and 2015 Canadian Country Music Association female artist of the year.
