The construction work is being done to repair exterior components of Darke Hall, which include slate tile roof replacement, front façade brick and stone repair, window refurbishment, front step rebuilding and hand rail placement.
According to an email sent out by a university spokesperson, the building’s accessibility will be addressed in a later project.
The work being done was made possible by the support of donors who contributed to the College Avenue Campus Renewal Project, which costs $3 million.
Donations have been received through as fundraising campaign, which was announced in 2011. The university is trying to raise $10 million, and has collected $7 million so far.
