Kids from grades four through 12 attended the ‘Walking Together’ – Day of Education for Reconciliation event.
Charlene Bearhead, with the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation says with workshops and speakers throughout the day, she hopes kids will take away important lessons.
“We’re here to inspire teachers and students to get on that journey of learning, that journey of reconciliation, that seeking of truth and the social justice actions that are required to build respectful relationships between indigenous and non-indigenous people in this country.”
Students from more than 50 Regina-area elementary and high schools attended the session.
This is the 9th annual Education Day held by the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation.
