Canadian Music Week – which takes place in Toronto – may be all about the music in this country.
But for many – especially some in Saskatchewan – its also about the industry recognition.
On Thursday, May 5, at Toronto’s Grand Ballroom on Queen Street West, the CMW’s biggest night – the annual industry awards – gives recognition to the pioneers and builders of Canada’s music industry.
And this year, Saskatchewan gets its props.
In the category CASINO/SPECIALTY VENUE, Casino Regina has been nominated.
In the category MAJOR FACILITY UNDER 8000, Regina’s Brandt Centre gets the nod.
The 34th annual instalment of CMW will run from May 2 to May 8 in Toronto.
Showcase performers for the event include Canadian acts like Sparrows, Midday Swim, Curses, Beauts, Fake Tears, Mardeen, Mindil Beach, Shawn William Clarke, Stuck on Planet Earth, Windigo, DB Cooper, and Little You, Little Me.
The conference portion of CMW has announced speakers from organizations like Beggars Group, LinkedIn, Glastonbury Festival, Music Canada, Cooking Vinyl, Nettwerk Music Group, CD Baby, PledgeMusic, the Recording Industry Association of America and more.
