If you don’t want to eat your food out of plastic containers, perhaps you worry about the leeching of toxins; how about using old jars.
Yes, this is one of those “useless”, “meaningless” items to blog about! It may conjure up images of making your own baby food, but food tastes pretty good coming from a mason jar!
It gives you a chance to layer things and get a visual buzz – perhaps make it tastier then it is!
Example: bran, a layer of plain yogurt with a drizzle of liquid honey and topped with cinnamon. If you have fresh fruit even better. The yogurt infused by the honey, cinnamon and absorbed to a degree by the bran makes for a refreshing morning treat.
Food in a jar also helps with portion control – I especially like the mini-mason’s that offer measurements! Hello, Classico.
Instead of throwing the jars out, take a look at how you can re-purpose them. You might be surprised what crazy way they can work for you.
If you are a DIY guru, you’ll already have a few ideas and know more about this then my little notion of eating out of a jar!
Making food fun, one bite at a time!
