For the last couple of weeks I have been debating whether or not the Lewis household should get a new barbeque. The reason I say “I” instead of “we” is because a new barbeque was totally my idea and my wife just gave her blessing, eliminating her from the equation all together. That should make finding one a little simpler.
The only thing she asked was “do we need a new one?” We probably don’t, but I said we do, and here we are.
I’ve been checking the flyers lately without much luck, so today I plan on leaving work and driving around aimlessly with only one purpose…find a barbeque. I’ll go from store to store to store. I might end up spending more on gas than I will the barbeque, but who cares. I’ll be on a mission.
I told my wife that I’ll have the new barbeque set up by the time she gets home from work today. “Do you plan on setting it up all by yourself,” she asked. Huh? Really? Hey I set up the last one we got all by myself. I didn’t even need directions. All I needed was the picture on the box! Of course, it probably took me twice as long as it would have if I had read the directions, but I’m a guy, we don’t need those things. Oh, ye of little faith!
So, if you’re out this afternoon and you happen to notice me meandering around some store that sells barbeques, looking lost, please don’t interrupt me. I’ll be on a mission. That mission is not only to find a new barbeque, but to get it home in time to set it up to prove to my wife that I can actually do it twice in a row!
