City Councillors voted to remove 13 Leopold Crescent from the heritage holding list at the City Council Meeting on Monday night.
Heritage Regina was looking to save the home from demolition, but the owner of the home said it was beyond repair.
The vote to remove the home from the protected list of homes means the owner of the home, Dennis Dodds, is free to tear it down.
“Our plans moving forward would be to proceed with some designs on what we could put up on that property and then take the existing house down.”
City Council also made an amendment to review the process of which houses are put onto the heritage holding list.
Also on the agenda for Monday night’s meeting was the issue surrounding the Northwest School site.
The City had served Rosewood Park Alliance Church, and their partner SVN, a default notice on March 9 because the developer had not provided sufficient evidence they would be able to complete servicing of the land.
City Council voted on a plan of action that allows the developers to prove they will meet all the requirements by April 29 at 4:00 p.m.
