When the Shrine Circus comes to Saskatchewan in June, those attending will notice a change.
Wa-Wa Shrine spokesperson Stuart Larson says a decision has been made to remove animals like tigers, elephants and bears from the program and give it a more equestrian feel.
Larson says the show will also feature dance performances and aerial and high-wire acts to also give it a Cirque de Soleil feeling.
The Shriners decided it was time to do something different once their contract with the company that provides exotic animals expired, and he feels the move will be very popular amongst those attending shows.
The Shrine Circus will make its first stop in Estevan June 1 with other stops in Regina, North Battleford, Melville and Saskatoon.
