The body found in a slough north of Prince Albert has been confirmed to be Troy Napope’s.
Last Wednesday, the RCMP’s Underwater Recovery Team found the human remains as part of the investigation into the death of Napope, who was last seen on May 28th of last year.
The vehicle he was driving was found burning north of Prince Albert the next day.
Investigators believed that the remains were those of Napope, but sent them to the Office of the Chief Coroner to confirm their suspicions.
Two men, Braidy Chase Vermette, and Skylar Patrick Bird were charged with first degree murder in relation to Napope’s death.
Vermette had briefly escaped custody last month, but was captured a week later.
