Yesterday morning after the Flea Market I was in the back chatting to someone when Denise, one of the fine ladies who works here, called me over to her desk. She wanted to give me a heads up on something new that I would experience the following morning. We were getting a new coffee machine! She thought she’d better let me know how to work this new contraption so I wouldn’t be cussing and cursing when I rolled into work the next morning looking for my first hot cup of coffee.
The old machine was easy. As long as there was a water bottle hooked up, all I had to do was put my cup under the spout, hit a couple of buttons, and I had my morning java. This one is a little different and I actually have to wait before getting my coffee fix.
With this new machine, I first have to grind some fresh coffee beans into a filter. Once that’s done, I have to move the filter to another machine, putting it below the water spout and hitting the brew button. Once the container below the filter is full of freshly brewed hot coffee, I have to move that container to a stand on the counter in the lunchroom. Once that is all done I can have a cup of coffee. Wow. That’s a little more labour intensive than the other machine, I must admit.
Thank you Denise for the crash course. It came in handy this morning.
People think I have a foul mouth as it is. I can’t imagine the words that would have been spewing out of my mouth this morning if I hadn’t been given some training on this new machine!
By the way, there will be no blog tomorrow morning. Evans and I will be broadcasting live from the town hall in Wawota for our annual Ducks Unlimited Community Concert Series. As a matter of fact, all of our shows will be live from Wawota tomorrow. Julian Austin will be playing tomorrow night. Tickets are $35. Should be a great show. If you live in the area, drop by and say hi.
