There is an outbreak of norovirus at a health care facility in Swift Current.
The Cypress Health Region says an outbreak of the virus that can cause diarrhea and vomiting has been confirmed at Palliser Regional Care Centre.
So far, 13 residents at the facility have shown signs and symptoms of the illness.
Visitors are currently restricted and infection control measures have been stepped up at the facility.
There is also an outbreak of gastrointestinal illness at a unit of the Cypress Regional Hospital, but officials aren’t sure yet what they are dealing with.
Noroviruses are very contagious and can spread easily from person to person.
