Harvard Broadcasting cares about the victims of the wildfires in Fort McMurray and is encouraging everyone to donate to the Red Cross to help those affected by the fires.
The Red Cross urges people to donate funds rather than clothing for the residents of Fort McMurray who have been driven from their homes by wildfire.
The Red Cross has set up a special online form to make donations simpler.
You can also make a $5 donation by texting REDCROSS to 30333.
You can also call toll free: 1-800-418-1111
Or email: WeCare@redcross.ca
Others are providing help through a Facebook page, offering places for people and pets to sleep and parking for cars and recreational vehicles.
The Red Cross also called attention to a new app that was launched this week to help Canadians prepare for emergencies.
The app, called Be Ready, uses weather feeds to alert users about potential floods, forest fires and tornadoes.
The free app is compatible on iPhone, iPad, and Android devices.
