Wednesday was the warmest May 4th on record in Regina and many other places in Saskatchewan.
The hottest May 4th on record had been in 1918 when Regina hit 29.4 degrees Celsius, but that was shattered around 3 o’clock Wednesday afternoon when the mercury hit the 30 degree mark.
Regina was not alone in setting a record as Environment Canada says nearly 25 places also broke the record for the warmest May 4th.
They include Weyburn, Kindersley, Assiniboia, Saskatoon, Moose Jaw, La Ronge and Nipawin.
In fact, Nipawin was the warmest spot in Canada as the temperature hit 32.6 degrees.
This heat wave continues Thursday with another set of records expected to fall as many places in Saskatchewan will see temperatures at or above 30 degrees before it cools off a few degrees for the weekend.
