A Regina kindergarten teacher has returned from Ottawa with a tale to tell.
Lindsey Stuart was in the Nation’s Capital to receive a “Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence in Early Childhood Education”.
Stuart, who teaches at Henry Braun School, was nominated for the award by fellow teachers and parents of former students which she says was very humbling because anyone of her colleagues could have received the award. She says she may be teaching very young children who are just getting started on the educational path, but those kids have the ability to change the world because there is no end to what they can accomplish.
Stuart, who also received a 5-thousand dollar bursary, attended a reception with the Prime Minister and on the advice of friends and co-workers approached Justin Trudeau to get a selfie which he was more than happy to do.
