Premier Brad Wall will be looking closely at SaskTel operations in the legislative assembly.
He says the government has asked for a risk analysis to be done by an industry expert following the takeover of Manitoba Telecom Services by Bell.
Wall says he wonders how SaskTel can be competitive as the last provincially-owned telecommunications company.
Wall says the analysis doesn’t mean the government is looking to sell the Crown corporation, which is protected under legislation.
He says if there was a compelling case to sell SaskTel, the government could holding a provincial referendum.
