A very successful flag football league in Regina is going to get a visit from the National Football League’s Chicago Bears next month.
The NFL Play 60 program will stop at the University of Regina June 18 to spend a day with the league while putting on clinics and other events in what will be a great day for the family.
NFL Canada’s Tammy Johnson is looking forward to the Regina stop because she has heard a lot about the youth flag football league which has seen enrollment of 100 to 2700 in just four years.
She also says no one should be concerned over the fact an NFL team is coming into the heart of CFL country as the objective here is playing the game of football which is the key.
It is not known what players will be coming to Regina. but Johnson has confirmed former Saskatchewan Roughrider linebacker Jerrell Freeman (pictured) will be making the trip back to his former football home and that he was very excited to learn the Bears were going to come to Regina.
