With road construction season in full swing in Regina, drivers will want to take note of three projects as you go back to work Tuesday.
1. Crews will be doing upgrades to the water system on Broadway Avenue between Winnipeg Street and Wallace Street. Broadway Avenue will be closed in both directions for one day depending on weather or any other unforeseen circumstances.
2. Crews will be starting work on Pasqua Street between Gordon Road and Parliament Avenue. The work is expected to take 8 to 10 weeks to complete depending on weather and any other unforeseen circumstances. The work will consist of concrete replacement, mud jacking and repairs to catch basins and man holes. This will be followed by removal of the asphalt surface to repair the subgrade, installation of a turn bay at Parliament Avenue and then paving.
During the sidewalk and sewer repairs, two-way traffic will be maintained at all times. The work is to start on the west side and move to the east side before the road surface is repaired. There will be no parking in the construction zone area during the work and no driveway access at times.
3. Drivers should consider alternate routes starting Tuesday, May 24 on Pasqua Gate West between Dalgliesh Drive and Pasqua Street. The work is expected to take three weeks to complete depending on weather or any other unforeseen circumstances. The work will consist of concrete replacement and mud jacking followed by removing the old, worn asphalt and paving of the road surface.
During construction two-way traffic will be maintained. There will also be some restrictions along the turn lanes onto Pasqua Gate West.
For everyone’s safety, drivers are reminded to slow down in construction zones and consider alternate routes to avoid construction.
