The government is looking at the possibility of a school board amalgamation in Saskatchewan.
Education Minister Don Morgan says the SaskParty has discussed several ‘transformational changes’ regarding both education and health care.
Morgan says they’re not leaving anything off the table when it comes to looking at all their options.
Morgan says the removal of separate school boards could be a huge cost saving measure when it comes to education.
Howevere, Education critic for the NDP, Carla Beck says the government is adding to the uncertainty within the education sector by discussing the possibility of a school board amalgamation.
Beck says these are big changes to be implementing with a large deficit being forecast.
The government will be looking at open discussions with staff, different agencies and students and parents.
