As a big fan of Dierks Bentley, it’s a GREAT DAY! Today is the release of his eighth studio album called ‘Black‘. The project includes 13 songs and Dierks calls it a “relationship type record”. Dierks just announced his second single will be a song called “Different For Girls” (featuring Elle King) and will follow up the #1 hit, “Somewhere On A Beach”.
I’ve already had the fortune of listening to the album front-to-back and one song stood out. That would be the last song on the playlist, “Can’t Be Replaced”.
The acoustic ballad mentions his dog, Jake, who at age 15 is fighting cancer. Jake is also deaf and has leg issues, but it’s clear Dierks will continue to hold on. If you get choked up while listening to song you aren’t alone, Bentley says he can’t get through the final verse without tearing up.
“For 15 years, right by my side
From a single man to three kids and a wife
Friends come and go, but when it comes to Jake
There’s just some things that can’t be replaced”
Bentley was a co-writer on 7 of the 13 tracks including, “Can’t Be Replaced”. In today’s day and age we live in a “single driven” market but I’d recommend grabbing and listening start to finish… You won’t regret it.
