My visits to Assiniboia, for work anyway, have come to an end for another year. Friday was the final day for the Assiniboia Spring Fever Lotto and it was a busy one. I should have been out there for nine days in total, and for the first time, I had to miss one day due to inclement weather. Thanks to Curtis, Tracy, and the whole crew for taking such good care of me. I’m already looking forward to next year.
I finally got my lawnmower back and was anxious to use it, seeing as it looked like I had a jungle growing out front again. The last time my lawn got cut, it was courtesy of my neighbour, Mike. So, yesterday was payback. I cut the back lawn before the Blue Jays game started and saved the front for later in the day, which came after some delicious barbequed burgers for supper.
On my drive into work today I noticed my gas tank is nearly bone dry. I was going to fill it yesterday after I had done my running around for the day, but I completely forgot about it. There’s nothing like driving to work at 3 A.M. with the gas light on and no gas stations in sight. The only one I pass on my way to work is Klein’s on 4th and Pasqua, but about a month ago the old pumps and tanks were ripped out to be replaced and that job is far from being complete. My first stop on the way home will definitely be a gas station!
