Regina Red Sox fans saw an exciting WMBL baseball game as the Yorkton Cardinals defeated Regina 8-5 in extra innings Tuesday night.
The Cardinals jumped out to an early 5-1 lead before Regina rallied with 4 runs in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game 5-5.
Yorkton broke out for three runs in the top of the 10th inning to secure the victory.
Ryan Lambrecht led the Red Sox offensive attack going 3 for 4 with a walk and a run.
Red Sox starter Adam Prashad had a rough outing giving up five runs on seven hits.
He also struck out nine Cardinal batters. Reliever Seth Sorensen gave the Red Sox a chance by throwing two shutout innings before giving way to Caleb Dunn.
Dunn took the loss after allowing four hits and three runs over two innings.
Yorkton got 8 strong innings from starter Gavin Collins, who faced 33 batters allowing 7 hits and two walks.
Collins also fanned 11 Red Sox hitters. Richard England got credit for the win.
Regina ended the night with 10 hits while Yorkton registered 11.
