After SWAT, Canine and crisis negotiators were called out to a home in SE Regina Friday, Police say a 30-year old man is facing charges.
Police say they were responding to an incident involving man who was threatening harm to himself.
At approximately 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 3, 2016 patrol members were dispatched to a house on Britannia Place in SE Regina.
Information police received in a phone call indicated an man was in the garage on the property and threatening to harm himself.
Patrol members arrived and removed the other residents of the house to safety, but the man would not allow himself to be taken into custody.
Because of the seriousness of the incident, a request was made for Crisis Negotiators, SWAT and Canine members.
After a lengthy negotiation, the man surrendered to police at approximately 5:40 p.m.
Police say the man has been charged with;
• Possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to public peace [88 CC]
• Careless Storage of a Firearm/Ammunition [86(1) CC] x 3
