Premier Brad Wall is defending a decision to cut funding for five urban parks in the province.
The NDP says the half million dollar cost cutting move is due to mismanagement by the SaskParty.
Opposition leader Trent Wotherspoon says the parks are the heart of the communities and add to the quality of life.
As well, he says they are important attractions for tourist dollars.
Wall says the province provided record revenue-sharing funding for municipalities.
Premier Wall says some tough decisions had to be made because of a billion dollar shortfall in resource revenue.
He says the province is providing expanding funding for infrastructure projects, cancer drugs, and more surgeries.
The urban parks are in Moose Jaw, Swift Current, Prince Albert, the Battlefords and Weyburn.
