The University of Regina has announced Tanya Reynoldson will assume the title of interim director of athletics, effective July 1.
Reynoldson will take over for Curtis Atkinson, who has held the role since January, 2015 following the retirement of Dick White.
Atkinson is leaving the U of R to pursue an opportunity in British Columbia.
Faculty of Kinesiology & Health Studies dean Harold Riemer says they feel very fortunate to have an experienced, dynamic individual in Reynoldson who is very familiar with the program to take over the position.
Reynoldson has been heavily involved with University of Regina Athletics for in excess of 15 years, including over a decade in her current role as athletics coordinator which sees her lead the department’s sponsorship, marketing, and event management operations. She was a five-year member of the women’s hockey team at the U of R prior to taking on full-time employment with the program, winning a Canada West championship with the Cougars during the 2000-01 campaign and earning Academic All-Canadian status in her final year with the squad.
