A candlelit vigil was held by Queen City Pride for Regina residents to stand together and show each other support.
Leo Keiser, Director of the UR Pride Centre says this hateful act will only strengthen their fight for equal rights.
“People are scared and certainly taking pause, but that doesn’t mean that people will stop doing what they’ve been doing for equity. Whether that’s LGBT based, whether that’s anti-racism work, anti-colonial work.”
Keiser says they will be holding a second gathering sometime this week to further commemorate the victims.
Queen City Pride kicks off on June 20.
