I had a wonderful sleep last night. The air conditioner was doing it’s job and the cat wasn’t being a royal pain in the a**! As a matter of fact, I didn’t even want to get up this morning, and I almost didn’t! I remember my first alarm going off and reaching over to turn it off. Next thing I know I looked at my clock on the dresser and it was 10 minutes later than it should have been. Hey, what’s going on? My second alarm didn’t go off!
I’ve got one alarm next to the bed. It’s the alarm on my wind-up clock that goes off at about 2:15. I usually turn that off and toss and turn for a bit before getting up. On my way to the shower I’ll turn off the back up alarm on the dresser. That alarm is set for 3:00. I usually don’t need it. It never changes. Very odd.
As I was showering this morning I was thinking that I might have to make a stop for a new alarm clock on the way home from work today. Then it hit me. I had a remote broadcast from Two Way Service is Southey last Saturday to celebrate the grand opening. Our Saturday broadcasts normally run from 10-3, but due to the early Rider broadcast I had to start at 8. That meant getting up bright and early and hitting the road by 6:30 and that meant setting my alarm for 5! That’s what the problem was.
I forgot to reset the time of my alarm on Sunday night before going to bed. I was up early on Monday so I didn’t need the 3 A.M. alarm. Duh!
After this week I’ll be off for two weeks and won’t need either alarm clock at all. That’ll make things a little easier.
