RCMP say they are looking for a 23-year old man believed to have drowned Tuesday afternoon while swimming at Katepwa Lake Provincial Park.
Around 2:50 p.m. police say they received a report of a man struggling in the water.
He was apparently swimming in the water with friends when he went past a buoy to a point where the water dropped off.
Witnesses say he went under.
According to a release, RCMP say the man’s friends, along with a Good Samaritan, tried to rescue him when he disappeared in the water.
As of 6:30 p.m, the man had not been located.
The RCMP’s Under Water Recovery Team is expected to assist in the investigation Wednesday.
