The City of Regina is finalizing a design for the Lorne Street bikeway extension from Victoria Avenue to 12th Avenue.
On Thursday it is hosting an an open house to help the public learn about the design and to provide their feedback.
In 2011, The Downtown Transportation Study identified a lack of cycling infrastructure leading directly into the downtown.
As a result, it was recommended cycling infrastructure be provided to serve this mode of transportation.
One of the recommendations is the extension of the Lorne Street bikeway.
Currently, Lorne Street is a one-way street from College Avenue to Saskatchewan Drive and accommodates cyclists with a dedicated lane from College Avenue to south of Victoria Avenue where the lane ends.
The open house is from 11:30-1:30 at the Regina Public Library.
