The buzz has been out there. A mail strike, by Saturday?
It’s a long weekend, no mail anyway!
A West coast friend mentioned this to me a few weeks back. Her concern is warranted – I have Roughrider tickets for her and I haven’t mailed them yet – the game is in October! It’s the Final Regular Season Game in Mosaic Stadium .. you see the importance.
I really should investigate what the “need” for this strike it. Electronic communication is already taking a percentage out of the use of Canada Post.
I am perhaps a rarity – I still like sending mail, I enjoy receiving it … even if it is a bill!! (I didn’t like the mail I got yesterday indicating my MBNA Credit Card was undergoing changes to the credit card rates – scissors are out to cut this baby up!)
Cards and letters may come at a reduced rate, however, Canada Post does do a pretty decent business with packages.
If you go on strike are you not just giving the consumer another reason to go elsewhere for your delivery service.
Would less glamorous stamps assist in cutting back expenses!
I gotta run, get that letter in the mail to B.C.!
