The 1966 Grey Cup champion Saskatchewan Roughriders will be rememembered at their next home game as 17 members of the club will be at Mosaic Stadium with a day full of events planned.
Fans will have an opportunity to meet the 1966 team members at an autograph session to be held at the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame from 12 – 1:30pm on Saturday, July 16th. From there, the former players will make their way to Mosaic Stadium where several members will be signing autographs at the pre-game GoodLife Fan Fest, prior to the 5:00pm kickoff. At halftime the ’66 team will take the field in celebration of their achievements and the history that was made here 50 years ago.
In addition to the players, the Grey Cup trophy will be making a visit to Mosaic Stadium and will also be available for photos at the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame from 12 – 1:30pm.
In keeping with the 1960’s theme, the Goodlife Fitness Pre-Game Fan Fest will come alive with music from the 60’s beginning 2pm.
The 1966 team was the first Rider squad to bring the Grey Cup back to Saskatchewan as they beat the Ottawa Roughriders 29-14 in Vancouver.
