Finding a lost pet may be a little easier thanks to the Regina Humane Society.
If an owner should become separated from their pet, there is now a lost report online page available allowing you to provide all the important details along with a photo of the animal. Printable posters can also be made which can be put up.
By law, the Regina Humane Society is required to hold stray dogs and cats for 72 hours if they have no form of identification or 10 days if they do have identification – such as a microchip, tattoo or tags. After stray animals have completed the legal holding period, they become the property of the RHS.
The society says having permanent ID like a tattoo or a microchip along with identification and licence tags make it easier for the reunion to take place.
